Jesse Darley has designed Beer Cap Maps, a brilliant series of laser-cut plywood maps filled with holes that allow people to display bottle caps from the location of the beer’s brewery in the Continental United States–and soon, the world. It’s a lot like the maps that allowed collectors to display the 50 quarters that represented each state in the United States. Maps of the entire Continental USA, select states only, and international maps are available to purchase and pre-order online.
Each map is made from veneered plywood; with precision cut small holes where you can fit the crowns of your latest six-pack. You can order your USA map or an individual state map, for the US also. They also make maps for the British Isles, Canada, Mexico, Germany… it’s a great way to show off your beer taste and knowledge, plus add some color to the room you hang it in or just to get a conversation started in your office hall.
Jesse’s son Jasper started collecting bottle caps at every party he was dragged to. Eventually friends started saving caps for Jasper. Once a Solo cup filled up, Jesse decided to avoid a visit from social services and created a laser cut holder that doubled as wall art. Need. Solution. As simple as that.
