Sonia Singh – artist and mother from Australia. She always believed that the doll would look much less provocative. Sonia created a project Tree Change Dolls – she buys in commission shops of old dolls and changes them beyond recognition, erasing aggressive makeup. “I have to repaint their faces and make new shoes, and my mom sews and knits them clothes,” – says the artist.

“These dolls have been rescued and rehabilitated from op-shops and tip shops around Tasmania. These lil fashion dolls have opted for a “tree change”, swapping their high-maintenance high-fashion habits for down-to-earth style. I hand repaint the dolls faces, mold new shoes, and my Mum sews and knits their clothing.”
