“New Icons” – Comprehensive Inventory of Our Transient Idol Portraits by Bruno Timmerman

“New Icons” by Photographer Bruno Timmerman, recently a very interesting series of portrait artwork of famous personalities. The portraits, the protagonists depicted by Timmermann such as Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg or Ai Weiwei, graphic patterns adorn their public activities.

“Critical of a society where everything is temporal and fleeting , everything looks the same and nothing is important; New Icons highlights the cracked paths we chose to follow , in a world where El Che is truly dead.
New Icons doesn’t pretend to be a comprehensive inventory of our transient idols, this series defines the subjects by their acts..and it confronts us with our choices.
These portraits are embodying that last minute before death where our whole life passes in front of our eyes.”
