The project “New Ethno” is a continuation of a series of works of art made by the make-up artist and stylist Beata Boyd and photographer Eva Shilinskaya.
The artistic duo used the traditional Slavic (in this case Polish) flower crown and all modern accessories, jewelry and make-up with the mission to experiment with the so-called “ethno”. Beata is undoubtedly inspired by the traditional folk works of the Holy Mother, as she explains. The flower crowns were recreated with the help of Edita Tseylik-Motzek, the owner of the Niebowo National Museum, to make it as realistic as possible.
If you are interested, it is not easy to make such flower crowns. This method ages more than 100 years, the flowers were made because of the twisting of colorful crepe paper – just as the Slavic girls have long done it in rural Poland.
