Jennifer Lawrence – American actress
Jennifer Shrader Lawrence (born August 15, 1990) is an American actress. She had lead roles in TBS’s The Bill Engvall Show and in the independent films The Burning Plain and Winter’s Bone, for which she received nominations for the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, Satellite Award, and the Screen Actors Guild Award. At age 20, she was the second youngest actress ever to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress. At age 22, her performance as a recovering sex addict in the romantic comedy Silver Linings Playbook (2012) earned her the Screen Actors Guild Award, Golden Globe Award, Independent Spirit Award, Satellite Award, and the Academy Award for Best Actress, amongst other accolades, making her the youngest person ever to be nominated for two Best Actress Oscars and the second youngest Best Actress winner.
Lawrence is also known for playing Raven Darkhölme / Mystique in the 2011 film X-Men: First Class. In 2012, she achieved wider recognition starring as the heroine Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games, an adaptation of Suzanne Collins‘ best-selling novel of the same name. Her performance in the film garnered her notable critical praise and marked her as the highest-grossing action heroine of all time. Lawrence’s performances thus far have prompted Rolling Stone to call her “the most talented young actress in America”.
Robert Pattinson Hails Jennifer Lawrence: ‘She’s Super-Confident’
They’ve both been tasked with carrying a gargantuan teen franchise, and it turns out that Robert Pattinson is a big fan of Jennifer Lawrence.
The Twilight hunk is currently promoting his new movie, The Rover, while J-Law completes shooting on the final Hunger Games instalment, Mockingjay – Part 2.
Speaking to The Daily Beast in a lengthy interview, he said he’s a big fan of what J-Law has achieved.
“She’s amazing. She’s absolutely incredible,” he said.
“But also we’re different types of people. She seems like she’s super-confident — and I don’t have the kind of confidence.
“She glows. I think you can fit that into quite a few different areas. Whereas I’ve got a kind of sneak-through-the-cracks style.”
In the same interview, the actor also denied that he is making a conscious effort to change route following the end of the vampire series.
“I never even thought of all the Twilights as a single entity. They were all separate movies for me,” he reasoned. “I mean, I forget how to act in between every single movie!”
He did, however, say that a big price comes with taking a role like Edward Cullen.
He explained: “But I’ve always thought that nothing comes for free. You get paid a bunch of money. You get a bunch of opportunities. And you’ve got to pay for it somehow. And in my case, I paid for it by having to figure out how to walk down the street [without getting mobbed]. I paid for it by people thinking I was one thing. That’s my major desire as an actor — to have no one know who I am. To have no preconceptions.
“So obviously when a character becomes iconic, you have to deal with the baggage that comes with it.”
