The biggest cruise liner in the world – Harmony of the Seas will carry out her sea trials on Thursday, March 10th. She will return to port on Sunday, March 13, 2016.
STX France indicated this first sea trial is devoted mainly to test her electric power plant and propulsion system, as well as maneuverability tests.
There are 500 people onboard Harmony of the Seas: crew members, STX test teams, suppliers and Royal Caribbean’s customer monitoring team.
Delivery of Harmony of the Seas to Royal Caribbean is scheduled for May 12, with departure to Southampton, UK around May 15.
Liner Harmony of the seas was built by the French company STX France. In May, he will be transferred to the Royal Carribean International American company operation (RCI).
The 16-deck-high cruise liner will hold a record 5,479 passengers at double occupancy, nearly 100 more than the two earlier Oasis class vessels. The first two Oasis class ships, Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, made waves in the cruise industry when they debuted in 2009 and 2010, respectively, and are by far the largest cruise ships currently afloat. Chock full of dozens of eateries, bars, showrooms and deck-top fun zones, they each measure 225,282 tons and carry 5,400 passengers at double occupancy.

- width – 66 meters;

The cost of construction of the new ship is estimated at one billion euros.
The company Royal Carribean International, already owns two cruise ships Oasis is an class, and put into operation in 2010. The Allure of the Seas now bears the title of the largest passenger ship in the world, but soon this will change.
