The Grand Canyon Lighting Show
U.S.-based photographer Rolf Maeder has captured their impressive elemental power perfectly in these photographs taken on a stormy night at the Grand Canyon.
This shot was taken at 9pm with a Nikon D800 and a Nikon 24x85mm lens at 24mm, f/8, ISO 400 using a 25 sec. exposure. The long exposure made it possible to catch three lightning bolts with one shot!
“The evening and sunset were very hazy, so we decided to return home, taking it slow, and visiting some more viewpoints.
Then, at Moran Point, we enjoyed this wondrous lightning storm emerging at the east end of the canyon!”
