Now touching photographs of animals in fashion suits becoming more difficult to surprise. But a century ago, Harry Whittier Frees caused a furore photograph furry kids. Feature of his work is that all the “main characters” disguised in human clothes, and the pictures are engaged in human affairs.
Inspiration came to Harry in one of the family reunions, when made of paper hat fell off the table and landed on the head of a cat. From the moment a young photographer has completely devoted himself to the cause. His mother helped him in every way, sewed costumes for special animals that fetter the movement “models” and cause them to freeze them in unusual poses. Most Harry loved taking pictures of kittens, because he considered them the most artistic. But working with them was pretty hard: the baby all the time distracted by sounds or objects, so only about 30% of the frames were obtained successfully.
