European Balloon Festival 2016 is one of the largest international event of its kind in Europe. It was first held in 1997. This year, more than 50 balloons from around the world took to the skies.
The European Balloon Festival is the largest hot air balloon festival in Spain and one of the largest in Europe. It takes place every year during the first fortnight of July in Igualada, Catalonia, Spain, a city located within 60 km from Barcelona.
The festival is organized by the Igualada City Council, with technical support from the company Ultramagic, the world’s second largest manufacturer of hot air balloons, and Kon-Tiki Balloon Flights.
The European Balloon Festival 2016 takes place from 7 to 10 July.

Anyone can ride a hot air balloon, along with the pilot. Many spectators attend the festival just for this. This is especially true of couples with children. You can not just fly over the airfield, but also over the Pyrenees. It is worth it is not cheap, but what does money mean beside the opportunity to see the famous crests bird’s-eye view.
