It’s all about the eyebrows, apparently. When Arizona Muse came from nowhere in 2010 to become the model of the moment, fashionistas rhapsodised about her extraordinary luminous beauty, of course, but also about those strong, sweeping brows. Not since Margaux Hemingway in the mid-1970s have we seen eyes so emphatically framed. Vogue called them ‘lightning bolts’, and there has since been a deluge of features on how to get ‘big, bold, beautiful brows’. Indeed, Muse’s look was so influential that almost overnight it was no longer unique because so many other young models were trying to emulate her.
