Now Green

Chameleon on a branch at the zoo in Chemnitz, Germany. Widely known is common to all chameleon ability to change color and pattern of the body. Traditionally it was thought that chameleons change color draining from the body to the environment. However, exploring the variegated mountain chameleon (genus Bradypodion), dwelling in North Africa, the researchers came to the conclusion that chameleons change color used primarily for communication with members of their own species, but not for protection from predators.
