Adam Kalinowski’s green sculpture tries to represent “nature untouched by human hand, not idyllic landscape petrified by human values and sense of handiness but ancient nature being changed only by natural processes of passing time in incredible long cycles.” The Polish artist manages to reach through his living work of art several environmental issues like the significance of urban open spaces and green areas in urban developments.
“THE INFINITE GREEN” is an example of a „green sculpture” which is a combination of steel and wood construction, soil and vegetating plants. Sculpture may remind graphic symbol of infinity especially observed from point of bird view perspective. Viewer has an access into interior of the structure. Additional aspect of the sculpture may be a color of plants: many shades of green color appear while different species are planted on 110 m2 on 7 shelves-levels of a sculpture. They also blossom in a different time of a year.”
