12 of the First Winter Olympics

To Sochi now riveted world attention. And the first Winter Olympic Games were held in 1924 in Chamonix, France. Then they attended by 250 athletes from 16 countries. In 1936 the Winter Olympics were held in Nazi Germany, in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, after which games were canceled until 1948 because of World War II .
